About Us

Advent Film Group (AFG) is a Purcellville, Virginia-based independent Christian film production and distribution company founded in 2007 by George D. Escobar and Michael Snyder. It focuses on producing award-winning, faith-based films while training the next generation of Christian filmmakers through internships and hands-on experience.
Key Aspects and Projects
  • Mission: To create, produce, and distribute media that reflects a Christian worldview, often involving young filmmakers in the process.
  • Notable Films:
    • Come What May (2009): A drama focusing on a law student, which starred Kenneth and Karen Jezek.
    • Alone yet Not Alone (2014): A historical drama produced for Enthuse Entertainment.
    • The Screenwriters (2016): A black-and-white feature film produced by interns and associates.
    • Prairie Winds (Upcoming): A project by 3 Days Studios, written & directed by Escobar
  • Training & Mentorship: Advent emphasizes training, with many crew members on their films being mentored through the process. For example, Peter Forbes started as a production manager on Come What May and later directed The Screenwriters.
  • Partnerships: The company has been endorsed by leaders at Patrick Henry College and the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).
Note: Advent Film Group, founded in 2007, is distinct from Advent Films in Los Angeles, which is a commercial production company founded in 2013
